(old) 2021-22 Faculty Grant Program

Overview

The Harvard China Fund administers the Harvard China Faculty Grant Program to advance the research goals of Harvard faculty and improve the education of Harvard students, in collaboration with Chinese partners. The Harvard China Fund will offer three categories of funding for faculty in FY22: 1) conference grants, 2) research grants, and 3) support for needs due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Proposed projects must align with Harvard University’s current travel guidance and other COVID-related policies as needed.

Funding Availability

Conference Grants: Up to $50,000
Research Grants: Up to $50,000
RA Grants: Up to $5,000
Other Small Grants: Up to $10,000

Eligibility

Harvard faculty are eligible to apply. Additional eligibility requirements are applicable for HMS faculty.

Apply

Conference and research grant applications both require the submission of a short, written proposal. RA and small grant applications respectively require a “RA Employment Grant Application Form” and a “Small Grants Application Form” submitted via email to hcfchair [at] harvard.edu. Application forms, instructions, and evaluation criteria are available on the Harvard China Fund website.

Conference and research grant applications are due by November 17th, 2021.
RA and small grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are due by November 30th, 2021.
